Men are complicated creatures, or at least they pretend to be. Ironically, they are not such a rare resource either. What is a rare resource, however, is a relationship. Love is a rare thing, and it is obviously very depressing if things go sour despite there being affection and feelings between two individuals.
More often than not, men are too stubborn to change their wayward ways to actually value a relationship before their habits; they are true slaves to habit.
So, dear girl, the burden falls on you; if you think the relationship is far too precious, well, keep these eight things in mind to steal his heart.
1. Learn to hold your temper
Anger never really resolves anything in life and especially harms relationships. After all, men are lazy bums or spoilt mama’s boys mostly. You, as a functioning adult, will always find yourself feeling pissed or angry with your man. Try to not let it get between you two. Be the bigger person in the fight. Learn to adjust.
2. Show them your wit
Contrary to popular opinion, men don’t really want to be with someone who is just an eye-candy, with no substance inside. If the woman is smart, confident, and witty, with a sharp sense of humor, the guy would fall hook, line, and sinker!
3. Care
This is authentic and works both ways. If you are in a relationship, you would obviously want your spouse to care about you. Take care of them when they need it and sometimes just because you love them. It shows affection and prioritizing, and let’s face it, everyone wants to be someone’s priority.
4. Honesty
Do not break their heart later after dangling a carrot in front of them for quite some time. That is a disrespectful thing to do. Instead, if you must give them a bitter truth, give it to them beforehand.
Be transparent and be respectful towards your fellow humans, spouse or not.
5. Laugh at their jokes
Yes, we understand that your resting bitch face has helped you function all these years. We also understand that your man makes stupid, silly and juvenile jokes. But, if and only to the extent his jokes are not sexist, you should try and laugh at them. This makes them feel really special and appreciated and in turn, makes them appreciate you even better.
6. Respect yourself
Nothing translates to being respected more than respecting one’s own self. This comes off as confidence being exuded by an individual and that is always a huge plus, be it in relationships and careers and everything else under the sun.
7. Compassion
Again, one of the no-brainers. Be kind to everyone, because you can never know their struggles fully, spouse or a random stranger.
8. Lead in bed
And this is one of the most underrated pieces of advice we can give; nothing like a strong, independent woman who knows and takes what she likes, even at the cost of surprising her man.
